Dog Food Tips For Preventing Fussy Eaters
There is much to commend feeding your dog domestic dog food if you have the time to prepare it, also ensure you have recipes that give the right ratio of nutrients, as well as the vitamins and supplements you'll need to add in the food. These can be mixed up in a packet, stored, and sprinkled with each meal.

Dogs should have at least 18% protein for maintenance when they are grown-ups and 22% for reproduction and development. Fat should be at least 5% for grown-up dogs and 8% for reproduction and development. However, the more fat is in the food, the extra protein there should be. Fat makes dogs, as well as people, eat fewer by making them feel fuller. If they eat less, and there are less of other key supplements like protein and vitamins and minerals, the dog won't get the nourishment it needs.

Normally, commercial pet diet is made according to the appropriate guideline, but, care should be taken if significant amounts of other food are added to the diet, and it is high in fat.

However, whether you're nourishing your dog with commercial dog food, or domestic dog food, there are a couple of things to remember to avoid ending up with a fussy dog:

- Dogs should be fed once every day once they are no more puppies or with two small meals. Feeding your dog too often when he is mature can make him look like a fussy eater when he is very full.

- Feeding your dog too frequently can get him into the routine of being eager to eat at those times, as well, and may lead to weight gain. Allowing him to get hungry and feeding rationally, won't hurt him. In the wild, dogs would eat for once every day until they were totally full.

- Don't stand and gaze at your dog waiting for him to eat. He will probably think something isn't right, or something else is coming, and won't eat.

- Don't back down to your dog and give him something else straight away if he rejects his meal, as he's effectively training you and not the other way around!

How to train your dog to eat his food

There's nothing amiss with feeding your dog a fluctuated diet, but don't continue changing the food because he appears fussy and won't eat it. Ensure nothing is wrong with him physically first, then if he is healthy, take control of the situation. Put his food down, leave it to him, and after 30 minutes go and confirm whether it's been eaten. If it hasn't, take it away, toward the end of the day put down some fresh food. Continue the process, and remove it 30 minutes later, if it still isn’t eaten.

This technique you’ll train your dog to eat his food and not support his behavior.

    - If your dog abruptly goes off his food, it could be because he has dental issues or stomach problems. Get him checked by the vet.
    - Some dogs really desire a certain kind of food, just as people do.

Try your dog with an assortment of foods, and if he just eats one sort, and will go hungry if he doesn't get it, the Actijoy solution can simply be to feed him that kind of food.
